Your skills as an administrator are much sought after if you are methodical and thorough with a keen eye for accuracy and detail.

Which NVQ is right for me?

Level 2 NVQ in Business & Administration

Level 2 NVQ in Business & Administration is ideal if your role involves carrying out a broad range of administrative activities, requiring a limited amount of supervision and working with some autonomy. You will be working as part of a team providing information and resources to others. Your work will involve a range of administration activities, such as: managing customer relations, managing diary systems, organising business travel and accommodation, organising and supporting meetings, using various software, preparing text from a variety of sources.

As part of the qualification, you will need to complete 5 units. Typical units are:

  • Carry out your responsibilities at work
  • Work within your business environment
  • Ensure your own actions reduce risks to health and safety
  • Manage customer relations
  • Use a telephone system
  • Operate office equipment.

Level 3 NVQ in Business & Administration

Level 3 NVQ in Business & Administration is for those carrying out administrative duties with a considerable amount of responsibility and autonomy. You will be contributing to the development and implementation of administrative services within the organisation, and have a substantial amount of administrative experience. Typical duties may include: supervising an office facility, managing and evaluating customer relations, monitoring information systems, running projects, planning, organising and supporting meetings, making presentations, using various software, planning and implementing innovation and change, providing leadership, preparing text from a variety of sources.

As part of the qualification, you will need to complete 6 units. Typical units are:

  • Carry out your responsibilities at work
  • Work within your business environment
  • Ensure your own actions reduce risks to health and safety
  • Use IT systems
  • Supervise an office facility
  • Procure products and services
  • Manage and evaluate customer relations.
