Which NVQ is right for me?
Level 2 NVQs in Hospitality & Catering
Level 2 is aimed at those with experience in the front of house or kitchen operations and wish to get a formal recognition for it. A similar range of pathways are on offer including:

Examples include:
- Prepare and clear areas for table service
- Serve food at the table
- Provide a buffet/carvery service
- Provide a counter/take-away service
- Prepare and clear the bar
- Serve alcoholic and soft drinks

- Cook and finish basic dishes
- Prepare, cook and finish basic hot sauces.
Level 3 NVQs in Hospitality & Catering
The emphasis at level 3 is on Professional Cookery or Supervisory Management. IN Professional Cookery, units demonstrate that you can prepare and cook a wide range of food including:
- Preparing meat for complex dishes
- Cooking and finishing complex shellfish dishes
- Preparing, finishing and presenting canapés and cocktail products
- Maintaining food safety when storing, preparing and cooking food.
- Preparing, cooking and finishing complex pastry products.
